When a series of foot injuries ended my professional ballet career in 2001, I moved to New York City to rehab my injuries and get my body in a better place. Through the process, I became one of the first fully certified STOTT Pilates Instructors in New York City and later a personal trainer. With frustrating chronic pain and physical limitations resulting from my ballet injuries I continued with physical therapy. In 2004, I started with a new physical therapist who introduced me to Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT). After dramatic changes, improvements in strength and reduction of pain, I entered the Muscle Activation Techniques training program and became an MAT Specialist in 2006. I then continued my education in the Resistance Training Specialist program where neuroscience, biomechanics, muscular anatomy and joint physics, and how they all relate to one another, became my obsession. Helping people improve their muscular system so they can enjoy doing what they love without pain or limitations became my passion.
